Recruitment is a one week period in which you will become acquainted with the Greek community and meet many new friends. During this week you will get a chance to meet the women of all 8 NPC sororities here at UC Davis. Recruitment is a mutual selectio process during which each day you prioritize the chapters you would like to return to the following day. Similarly, the chapters narrow the amount of women they invite to chapter events. Each day you will attend at least two fewer chapter events than the day before, eventually ending with preference night, where you attend no more than two chapter events. The following day you will receive a bid from one of these chapters, a very special moment indeed.
This week is an exciting and hectic time, so Panhellenic has trained some very special sorority women to guide you through the recruitment process. They are known as Recruitment Counselors. Your Recruitment Counselor is a member of a sorority, but during the week of recruitment she works for Panhellenic Association and remains unaffiliated with her sorority. Never hesitate to ask your Rho Chi about anything; she will be able to give you unbiased advice and answer your questions from a fair standpoint. During recruitment you will be a part of a Recruitment Counselor group, composed of about 15 other women also going through recruitment. Each group will have a Recruitment Counselor who will be with you the entire week. The members of your Recruitment Counselor group and your Recruitment Counselor have an opportunity to become great friends during all the fun activities planned for recruitment week.
