Theta Newsletter

Yay for philanthropy and fun-filled spring-time activities! For this month of May the Theta calendar is stock-full of fabulous events! Theta kicks of the month of May by participating in the "Tour de Cure" philanthropy on May 1st. The "Tour de Cure" is a bike ride through the scenic back-roads of beautiful Napa and all the proceeds go to benefit Diabetes efforts. So far the Theta bike team has risen over $2,500!

Then on May 2nd, Theta will be hosting an Alumni dinner at the Theta house in which the Theta chapter will have the opportunity to dine with Theta alumni of the Davis area. Alumni dinner is a great way for our current Thetas to stay in contact with the Theta alumni and also allows a chance for Thetas to get career and post-graduate advice as they begin to embark on their after-college journeys.

On Saturday and Sunday May 7th and 8th, Thetas will enjoy Spring Retreat as they camp out at Lake Berryessa. Spring retreat is a great bonding experience and is the perfect relaxation break from the stresses of school and midterms.

Then comes one of Theta's biggest events of all of spring quarter… "Rock the CASA"! "Rock the CASA" is Theta's main philanthropic event and is a rock concert in which all of the benefits go to support the organization CASA, which stands for court appointed special advocates. This year, "Rock the CASA" will be held on Saturday May 14th from 2-6 pm at Central Park in Davis. "Rock the CASA" will be featuring four bands and will also have a barbeque conducted by a local fraternity and a raffle in which Theta will give away prizes from community businesses. As the date for "Rock the CASA" approaches, Thetas are working hard to make the event spectacular and can't wait to enjoy some stellar music, tasty barbeque, and fun in the sun!

The social calendar of May ends strong as Thetas will be enjoying Spring Formal on May 21st. All the girls look forward to formals and love to enjoy a night of music and dancing in the fabulous company of their date and fellow Theta sisters!

The Theta ladies are sure to enjoy this exciting month and will continue to keep you updated on more spring events.
